Juan Jackson had the best individual game of his season, and maybe his high school career, as he paced Gardendale to a 66-56 win at Huffman in a crucial Class 6A Area 12 boys basketball clash Tuesday.

Jackson scored 27 points to lead all scorers, but was deadly with his accuracy. He hit 9-of-12 shots from the field (75 percent) and 6-of-7 from the foul line.

Austin Hicks scored 14 points and Allen Williams 11 for the Rockets.

Cezanne Carson had 13 points, Decorian Ayers added 12 and Myles Threadgill 10 for the Vikings (2-10, 2-1 area).

Gardendale (14-6, 3-3 area) has had a schedule change for Thursday, as its game with rival Mortimer Jordan has been called off so that the Blue Devils can make up a postponed area game with Walker. The Rockets will next play at Pell City on Friday night.
