Hayden has given neighboring Mortimer Jordan some pretty good competition in the regular season. But when tournament time rolled around, the Blue Devils showed who’s boss.

Jordan had seven doubles plus a triple from the first four batters in the order, as they shut out the Wildcats 10-0 in six innings in Tuesday’s Class 5A Area 11 tournament.

Danae Hays was a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs to lead the Devils. Haylie McCleney was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double, Alissa Linn had two doubles with two runs sent in, and Blair Johnson added an run-scoring double.

Morgan Estell was also 2-for-3 with an RBI.

In the circle, Johnson struck out 11 Wildcats, allowing four hits and a single walk.
