Jefferson County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Randy Christian reported this afternoon that a woman turned in possible human bone fragments that she found along Mt. Olive Road.

The woman was picking up cans along the road near Nail Road when she found the bones on top of a pile of garbage. She called the Sheriff's Office about 1 p.m., and turned them over to the coroner's office for examination.

Christian said the coroner will test the bones, with results expected on Wednesday.

We'll have more on this story as it develops.
