Osama bin Ladin, mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, was killed in a raid by Navy Seals on Sunday.

Listed as public enemy Number 1, bin Ladin had been living in a multi-million dollar mansion in Abbotabad, a military town in Pakistan 100 miles from the capital Islamabad.

President Obama approved a risky operation by Navy Seals to infiltrate the compound, where they engaged in a close-quarters gun battle. They ordered bin-Ladin to surrender, but he refused.

After the firefight, the body was confirmed as bin Ladin’s after his DNA was tested against DNA from his sister, who died in Boston.
