Hello, Tuesday...

Weather: This is nice. Sunny skies again today, with highs in the middle 80s. Mostly clear tonight, with lows in the lower 60s. We'll keep this same forecast for the rest of the work week.

Gardendale police arrest man on child-solicitation charge. Billy Jason Rigsby, who is involved in youth basketball leagues in Blount County, was arrested for electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to commit immoral acts with a minor. A police spokesman said the incident did not involve any children from Gardendale. The arrest took place last week; Rigsby remains jailed on $90,000 bond.

And the winning bidder is... Blalock Building Company, whose bid of just over $3.1 million to build the new Gardendale City Hall complex was approved Monday night by the city council. Bids were also opened for the newest garbage pickup contract for the city, with six companies submitting sealed bids. The winner will be approved at the next council meeting in June.

Sports: Going for the Triple Crown. Racing officials in New York have cleared California Chrome to wear a nasal patch when he runs in the Belmont Stakes two weeks from Saturday. The Thoroughbred won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, and he could be the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978. The patch is similar in function to Breathe Right nasal strips used by humans to open nasal passages... Hockey: The New York Rangers are in good shape in their Eastern Conference Final best-of-seven series, after they won the first two games on the road in Montreal. Last night Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 40 out of 41 shots on goal in their 3-1 victory over the Habs. Tonight it's the Western Conference Finals, where Chicago has a 1-0 lead over Los Angeles.
