On Wednesday afternoon, an altercation at the Lexington Park pool resulted in one person being injured and a group potentially facing charges for attacking her.

Lt. Scott Banks, of the Gardendale Police Department, said a group of people who were at the pool, but did not live in the community, were asked to leave by a monitor for the home owner's association. The group, composed of adults and children, instead attacked another woman who asked them to leave.

The altercation, which was captured on video, is still being investigated by Gardendale Police. Banks said police do expect to file charges after consulting with the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. Banks said they know the identities of all the parties involved.

The beating reportedly continued even after the victim lost consciousness. The female victim, who has not been identified, was treated at a local hospital for injuries. She is expected to recover fully.
