Mortimer Jordan head football coach Dusty Goode talks to his team prior to a game in Cullman.

There’s been a change of plans.

Friday night’s Class 5A state football playoff game between fifth-ranked Mortimer Jordan and Dora has been moved from Jimmie Trotter Stadium in Kimberly to Horace Roberts Field in Dora.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon via social media.

According to Blue Devil coaches, the field was simply not ready for play following multiple rainstorms this week.

Mortimer Jordan will still be recognized as the home team, despite the game's location.

With a win over Dora, the Blue Devils would draw the winner of No. 9 East Limestone-Boaz next week in the second round.
