We would like to thank everyone that attended the North Jefferson Memorial Day Ceremony honoring our Veterans. Although we should honor them everyday.
Now that school is out it is the beginning of summer vacations, I hope everyone has a great summer. Just a couple of things to remember - Free Movies in the Park will be Friday night, June 7 at 7 p.m. and again on July 12 at Black Creek Park. Saturday, June 8 is the Ninth Annual Black Creek Arts Festival at Black Creek Park from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Summer Reading Program at Fultondale Public Library starts Wednesday, June 5 through July 17 at 10:30 a.m. This is a lot of fun for the kids so make plans to bring the kids out for this. This year's theme is A Universe of Stories!
If you know of anyone that does not have air conditioning, please make sure you check on them during this hot weather to make sure they at least have fans. Also, do not leave children in hot cars!
In the hot temperatures that we are experiencing, please make sure if your pets are outside make sure they have plenty of shade and cool water to drink. Please do not leave them in hot cars!
A Special Happy Birthday Wish goes to Johnny Blackwell on May 28. Johnny works for the Fultondale Street Department and does a great job. We hope he has a great birthday and many, many more.
A Special Happy Birthday Wish to my daughter, Amy Barnes on May 28. Daughters are a special gift, you always have a best friend. Amy is the mother of Eli Booker and sister to Derek Barnes. I hope she has a great birthday, I love her very much.
Remember - to let God's promises seep deep into your heart, our trials have a purpose. They force dependence in God. They mold us into an overcomer with faith, transforming.
