We, the Tarwater family, would like to express our deepest thanks to the people of Fultondale, Gardendale and all the surrounding communities in the north Jefferson area for their overwhelming support they have showed to our family in our time of need.

We really appreciate all the donations of furniture, clothes and the money given. We would like to give a special thanks to Mayor Jim Lowery and the City of Fultondale for the generous loan of a house that the city owns until we are able to rebuild. This was truly a God sent blessing. Thanks to the Fultondale Fire and Police departments for their quick and professional response. They did a great job and it is greatly appreciated. Thanks to the Red Cross for all their help. These people are great. To Fox 6 for their coverage and ABC 33/40 for their story, and to all the many friends who showed up at the house that night. It was comforting to see all the friends and neighbors showing their love and support. To Brenda and Jimmy Durden for opening up their home to us that evening, and to all the people at Gardendale Cracker Barrel and Shaw Warehouse for their help and support.

A special thank you goes to the people of the Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. These people really helped with donations of food, clothing and furniture.

Thanks to Danny Dunson and Courtney Cooper, who coordinated all the furniture drop-offs and pick-ups. Thanks to them and others, we have enough furniture to fill the house.

Courtney even fixed dinner a couple of nights and brought it to the hotel we were staying at. My wife called her a special angel from above.

Thanks to the people of Associated Grocers for their help and prayers.

A special thank you to the members of the Fultondale American Legion Post 255 for their generous donation and show of support to us.

We were trying to keep a list of everyone who helped to personally thank them, but the response was so great we could not keep up with everyone, so we decided to do this article in the paper. We know we didn’t mention everyone individually who helped in our time of need, but we want everyone to know how deeply touched and greatly appreciated they are.

This part of northeast Jefferson County is the greatest. The people are wonderful and we wouldn’t live anywhere else. We are planning to rebuild and recover from this, and with all the love and support from you people and the good Lord above, things will get better.

Once again from the bottom of our hearts, thank all of you and may god bless each and every one of you wonderful, caring people.
