  • Community Calendar for March 25, 2009 Gardendale



    Spring Arts and Crafts Show

    March 27 and 28 The North Arts Council will be having their spring arts and crafts show at the Gardendale Civic Center. There will be extended hours on March 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and March 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 50 vendors will be participating with a variety of crafts. You can also have your child’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny. There will be door prizes. If you would like to have a both, contact Angie Doss after 7 p.m. at 681-8028.



    Open House and Grand Re-opening

    March 28 There will be an open house and grand re-opening on March 28 for the North Jefferson Women's Center's new location at 1016 Mulberry Lane in Gardendale just off Fieldstown Road (turn by the Havoline Express). Ribbon Cutting will be held at 11 am and tours will be given until 1 pm. For more information please call 608-0757.



    Singing

    March 29 Rocks of Faith will be singing at Fieldstown Church of God March 29 at 1:30 p.m. For more information call 631-6013.

    Alumni Meeting

    March 30 In an attempt to organize an alumni association with the sole purpose of giving back to GHS, representatives from the class of '68 invite all alumni to join us in this organizational meeting to be held March 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gardendale Civic Center in the Magnolia Room.     March 14 There will be a St. Patrick's Day Show at Park Place at Moncrief in Gardendale doors open at 6 p.m. and show starts at 7 p.m. featuring Tara Kay "The Stylings of Reba.” There will be green refreshments. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Call 901-1174 for more information. They have also adopted the North Jefferson Baptist Association food and clothing bank as their 2009 Charity. Donations welcome at the show.

    Yard Sale

    March 7 The 10 year old G-Force baseball team will be having a yard sale on March 7 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Shoney's in Gardendale.



    Show

    Magnolia Festival

    April 18 The eighth-annual Magnolia Festival will be held at the Gardendale Civic Center on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival will feature arts and crafts, classic car show, business expo, carnival rides, inflatables, pooch parade, live entertainment and a variety of food vendors.     Winter Wonderland Dance

    Feb. 28 The sixth annual 2009 Winter Wonderland Dance with Edd Jones Band is scheduled for Feb. 28. In preparation for the dance, Jackie Tally and Andy Anderson will be teaching lessons each Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Jan. 20 through Feb. 24 in the exhibition hall at the Gardendale Civic Center.



    Singing

    March 1 Pineywood Baptist Church, 498 Pineywood Road, will celebrate homecoming March 1. Worship will be at 10:30 a.m., Lunch will be at noon, with a time of singing in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with Sacred Harvest providing the special music.

There will be a Texas Holdem, $25 entry fee, and Bunko, $10 entry fee, tournament as a fundraiser for the children’s ministry. Prizes will be handed out throughout the night.
