Oct. 3, 4 Gardendale's Alumni from the Class of 1968 are planning reunion activities the week-end of homecoming. They will not only participate in the parade, but will attend the game and enjoy homecoming festivities. 1968 was the first year that GHS had a graduating class and this is the group of students who experienced all the “firsts.” They wrote the alma mater, chose the school colors and mascot, chartered all the clubs and published the first edition of the annual Rendezvous. A large number of these graduates remained in Gardendale and have made a big contribution to the development of our city. They plan to attend the homecoming game on Oct. 3, then have a dinner and entertainment at the Exhibition Hall of the Gardendale Civic Center on Oct. 4. Donations for school
Now-Sept. 15 Superior Bank on Mt. Olive Road is collecting school supplies for Mt. Olive Elementary School from now until Sept. 15. K-5 supply lists are available at the bank, or drop off any supplies that the school can use. There is also a donation box to contribute cash.
Free Child Care

Mother’s Day Out

The following documents must be provided for enrollment: Birth certificate; Social Security card; blue Certificate of Immunization (IMM-50), which should include two measles immunizations and one for chicken pox; two proofs of residence; copy of parent’s driver license; custody papers where applicable. Registration will be permitted without immunization certificate, but certificate must be presented before school begins on Aug. 12. A child’s fifth birthday must be on or before Sept. 1 to enroll in Kindergarten. Child’s sixth birthday must be on or before Sept. 1 to enroll in first grade.
