VBS

June 23-27 East Gardendale Baptist Church will hold vacation Bible school on June 23-27 from 9 a.m. to noon for ages three to 12. For more information call 608-0889.



VBS

June 23-27 Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church will have their vacation Bible school on God’s big back yard on June 23-27 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will also be a round up day starting at 10 a.m. on June 21 with food and fun for the whole family.



Singing

June 29 Rocks of Faith will be singing at Fieldstown Church of God on June 29 at 1:30 p.m. For more information call 631-6013.



Bible Study

June 17-July 15 There will be a community Bible study this summer on Kay Arthur's DVD Series "Lord, Teach Me To Pray, Practicing a Powerful Pattern of Prayer.” The dates are June 17, 24, July 8 and 15. They will meet at Gardendale First Baptist Fellowship Hall and childcare is available by calling 488-8741. For more info call 488-8729.



Basketball Camp

July 15-17 Basketball Power Camps will be held at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. The boys camp will be from July 15-17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and the girls camp will be July 22-24 8:30 to noon for rising first through sixth graders. The cost is $20.



Play

July 17-19 The Gardendale School of Fine Arts will present the Samuel French musical “Grease” on July 17-19 at 7 p.m. at the Gardendale Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the Martha Moore Library and the Gardendale Dollar Tree Store. For further information, contact director, Judy Watson at 631-4508.



Dinner and a Movie

Gardendale Friendship United Methodist Church will sponsor a dinner and a movie for the children every Friday night at 6 p.m. If you need assistance please call 285-9340.



TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, Room 2028. Robert Pliner is the leader. For more information call 608-0606.



Pageants

July 26 and 27 The 2009 Miss North Jefferson County Scholarship Pageant, an official Miss Alabama preliminary pageant, will be held July 27, 2008. The 2008 Fund Raiser Pageant will be held on July 26 at Fultondale Elementary School at 6 p.m. Ages 0-12 are eligible.

Free Child Care

There will be free child care in the Mt. Olive area for 3 and 4 year olds. The head start program is now enrolling for the summer. Regular full day childcare is offered. Call 608-1661.

June 28 The Love family reunion will take place on June 28 from 2-6 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in the old sanctuary.



Support Group

Reunion

July 11, 12 The annual Rogers-Thompson family reunion will be on July 12 at Enon Baptist Church’s educational building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A covered dish lunch will be held at noon. They will meet at the Glasscock-Rogers Cemetery in Hayden at 3 p.m. for a dedication ceremony of the cemetery and the unveiling of a sign with the cemetery’s name on it. Mother’s Day Out

Enon Baptist Church’s Mother Day Out program will offer childcare for 6 weeks to 4-years-old on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. We follow the Jefferson County School system calendar, so we are out during all of their breaks. For more information call 647-9614.

Fourth of July Celebration

July 4 There will be a Fourth of July gathering with games, hoop it up, softball and volleyball from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the old Warrior Elementary School, Progressive Church of Victory at 537 Poplar Street, Warrior. Pre order food with Alethia Moorer at 647-0903.



Reunion

July 27 The annual Cruce family reunion will be held on July 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warrior Community Center. All Cruce family descendants are encouraged to come and bring food to share. Singing

June 29 Zola Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming 2008 on June 29. They will have dinner and singing with Sacred Harvest as the special singers after the 10 a.m. morning service.
