Gardendale

Registration

March 31 Gardendale 13 and 14-year-old baseball registration will take place until March 31. You can register at the park concession stand. For more information call Keith Mayfield at 608-0891 or Kelly Tittle at 608-2958.



Singing

March 30 Fieldstown Church of God will have a singing on March 30 at 1:30 p.m. with special guests, Gospel Enlighteners. For more information call the church at 631-6013.



Singing and Other Information

March 30 Fieldstown Church of God will be having a singing on March 30 at 1:30 p.m. with the Gospel Enlighteners. There will be a fourth Sunday night “singspiration” every fourth Sunday night at 6 p.m. and there will be a benefit singing on April 5 at 7 p.m. with the Spurgeons and local singers. If you want your picture made for Mother’s Day, the church is selling coupons for $5 for a 10x13 portrait. Portraits will be made on April 19. Call Bishop Tim Ogletree at 631-9604 for details. Tell him that you saw this in the North Jefferson News. The funds raised will be used for church repairs and other necessities for the church. Your help will be appreciated.



Registration

April 15 Kindergarten registration for Bryan Elementary will take place on April 15, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. or 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the counselor's classroom. It will be necessary for your child to attend registration. A simple assessment test will be given to your child while you complete your registration packet. The following items will be required to complete registration:certified birth certificate (not hospital copy), proof of immunization (blue card), Social Security card, two proofs of residence (utility bill, lease, rent receipt, etc.), driver's license



Reading Comes Alive

April 16 Author Diane Shore will visit Snow Rogers Elementary School on April 16 for "Reading Comes Alive." The public is invited to the free event. Shore will give a presentation in the gym for second and third-graders at 9:30 a.m.; for fourth and fifth-graders at 10:15 a.m.; and for Kindergartners and first-graders at 11:50 a.m.



Cemetery Clean Up

May 11 Friendship United Methodist Church will start having cemetery cleanup for the May 11 decoration day. Monetary donations will be received and appreciated.



TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, Room 2028. Robert Pliner is the leader. For more information call 608-0606.



Mount Olive

Free Child Care

There will be free child care in the Mt. Olive area for 3 and 4 year olds. The head start program is now enrolling for the summer. Regular full day childcare is offered. Call 608-1661.

Magic Show

Ladies Luncheon

Dances

The Marlow Ballroom Dance is held the third Sunday of every month at Friendship Hall in Fultondale from 2-5 p.m. Cost is $8/person, dressy casual. Group classes are also held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Friendship Hall $10/person. For more information call 229-8240.

Our RLC/gifted class is looking for available individuals who lived or fought during World War II because we are writing a novel. We prefer information about the Fultondale, Gardendale and Birmingham areas. We appreciate the community help. Bunko

April 5 Mortimer Jordan High School PTSA will host bunko at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. It is a fund raiser for the PTSA. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Mortimer Jordan's front office. Seniors from MJHS who attend will be placed in a drawing that night for a $500 college scholarship. Country Fair

April 12 The second annual Morris Country Fair is set for April 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the park across from Morris City Hall. The Country Fair will feature crafts, a car show, motorcycle show, food for sale and live entertainment. Mother’s Day Out

Enon Baptist Church’s Mother Day Out program will offer childcare for 6 weeks to 4-years-old on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. We follow the Jefferson County School system calendar, so we are out during all of their breaks. For more information call 647-9614.

April 19 The Warrior High School annual Alumni Banquet will be on April 19. All graduates and former students of Warrior High School are invited.
