    Mount Olive

    Park Day
    May 2, 3Mt. Olive Ballpark’s park day is May 3. The festivities will begin on May 2 with a parade that will leave the park at 6 p.m. and circle the Mt. Olive Community Center. Saturday will be full of activities including moon walk, super slide, cake walk and prizes. Green Top BBQ will be there. For more information call 516-0567.

    Senior Awareness Fair
    May 3 The senior awareness community fair will take place on May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Beechwood Baptist Church. It is all free as a service to the community. There will be refreshments, blood pressure checks and entertainment. There will also be free seminars. For more information call 631-4531.

    The Marlow Ballroom Dance is held the third Sunday of every month at Friendship Hall in Fultondale from 2-5 p.m. Cost is $8/person, dressy casual. Group classes are also held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Friendship Hall $10/person. For more information call 229-8240.

    World Religion Conference
    This week The North Jefferson Baptist Association will sponsor a seminar on authentic faith in a world of counterfeits on this week with Dr. Ron Carlson. The conference will be held at Mt.     Ladies Luncheon
    April 26 Fultondale First Baptist Church is having a ladies luncheon on April 26 at 11 a.m. featuring the Bargainomics Lady. Tickets are $10. For more information, call 849-0184.

    Bunko
    April 5 Mortimer Jordan High School PTSA will host bunko at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. It is a fund raiser for the PTSA. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Mortimer Jordan's front office. Seniors from MJHS who attend will be placed in a drawing that night for a $500 college scholarship.     Country Fair
    April 12 The second annual Morris Country Fair is set for April 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the park across from Morris City Hall. The Country Fair will feature crafts, a car show, motorcycle show, food for sale and live entertainment.     Relay for Life
    The North Jefferson Relay for Life season is under way. Help take up the fight against cancer. Relay still needs teams and team captains. Team captain meetings will be held on April 10 at the Alabama Power office on Main Street in Gardendale, next to the Western super market. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Bank Night will be held at SouthPoint bank in Gardendale on April 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. Relay for Life will be held at the Gardendale Soccer Complex on May 2 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. For more information about Relay for Life, visit http://events.cancer.org/rflnorthjeffersonal or contact Stephanie Crabtree at 930-8896.

    The Last Supper
    March 16 On March 16 at 8 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church you will be offered the opportunity to witness the reenactment of the Last Supper as inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci in his famous painting and as performed by actors from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Henry’s and St. Paul’s.     Bunko
    March 8 The AEGIS community bunko is coming up on March 8 at the Gardendale Civic Center. Doors open at 5:40 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and bunko play begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30. This covers two people for dinner and bunko. There will be door prizes and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. There will also be a raffle for $150 cash with tickets at $1 each as well as an exclusive teacher drawing (teachers must buy a ticket and be present to win). Tickets are available at Capital South (ask for Leenise 849-5481).

    Arts and Craft Show
    March 14, 15 The North Arts Council is presenting their spring arts and craft show at the Gardendale Civic Center. It will be March 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and March 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you would like to have a booth at the show please contact Angie Doss at 681-8028.
