FULTONDALE —
Spring is right around the corner and our seniors at the Fultondale Senior Center are ready. We are planning on taking full advantage of the nice weather Alabama has to offer us.
Our Valentines Day party was fun-filled with special snacks, games, trivia facts and 10 lucky seniors won door prizes.
• Our walking class began on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. This class is designed for everyone. It doesn’t matter what fitness level you are at, you can walk as little as much as you want, as fast or as slow as you want. We will be walking the outside track in beautiful Black Creek Park.
• Harry Reach and Jean Clark have teamed up and made us a bean bag toss game. This spring lets take it outside for a little friendly competition, fresh air and much-needed exercise.
• Anyone up for a movie? The center will be showing movies once a month, complete with popcorn. The seniors will have a choice of movies and the one with the most votes will be viewed.
• A trip to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame is being planned. Details will be available at the center once they are finalized.
• Daily activities include card games, board games, dominoes and Wii bowling.
• Join us on Wednesday at 10 a.m. for exercise class. Bingo is at 9 a.m. on Thursdays and the button auction is the third Monday of every month at 9:30 a.m.
• Guest speakers frequent our center monthly with information on finances, health, nutrition, crime watch and other topics beneficial to seniors.
• Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11 a.m.

Dear Savvy Senior
What can you tell me the about the constant ear ringing syndrome known as tinnitus? At age 56, I have had it for several years but it has gotten more and more noticeable lately. Is there anything I can do?

Lee has led the club for more than 20 years and he’s recruited about 200 people into the organization. “There’s a secret to recruiting for Civitans and I’m one of the few people that knows it,” he said. “The secret is a-s-k.
