NORTH JEFFERSON — Maxine Keeton Grubbs, 79 of Birmingham, passed away February 16, 2013. Mrs. Grubbs came to Christ in Birmingham many years ago while she was employed with South Central Bell. After salvation she moved to chattanooga and attended Tennessee Temple University where she met Rev. Bobby Grubbs. She retired from Decatur Heritage Schools as a teacher after 21 years of faithful service. Mrs. Grubbs was a member of Glenn Iris Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle. Funeral service will be Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. at Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle and she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Rev. Gary Peters, Rev. Chris Lamb, Rev. Jamin Grubbs and Rev. Joel Grubbs will be officiating. Burial will be held Feb. 20 at 1 p.m at Stokely's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newport, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glen Iris Baptist Church, Gospel of John Project in her memory.
