NORTH JEFFERSON — Sara Jo Thomas, 78, of Hayden, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2012.

She was a member of Stewarts Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Thomas; parents, C.N. and Lee Glasgow; and brothers, Buddy Glasgow, and John Paul Glasgow.

She is survived by her children, Pete (Mary) Thomas, Brenda (Will) Purcell, Johnny (Melissa) Thomas, Linda (Frankie) Carden, Julie (Jerry) Fines and Joseph (Cindy) Thomas; grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Hopkins, Ashley (Jason) Manning, Mindy Hopkins, Jennifer Hopkins, Joshua Goodwin, Troy Fines, Levi Carden, Chad Fines, John (Pattye) Purcell, Daniel Purcell, Paul Statham, Andy Holloway, Corrie Stiverson, Joshua Carden and Jordan Carden; great-grandchildren, Luke Thomas, Autumn, Cheyenne, Savannah and Dalton Holloway, Kendall and Gabriel Hopkins, Parker Ogletree; sister, Pauline Erwin of Huntsville; and a host of special friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at Stewarts Chapel United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 27 at 1 p.m., she will lie in state from noon until service time.

Graveside services will be in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Arnold Kilgore officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26 from 6  until 8 p.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.
