NORTH JEFFERSON —
Vance A.”Mack” McConnell, 88 of Mt. Olive, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Cara Lee McConnell; his brothers, Charlie Edwin McConnell and James Stewart McConnell.
He is survived by his loving family, his son, Dennis McConnell (Kathy); and daughter, Lynda Ann McConnell; grandchildren, Joseph Alan McConnell (Anna) and Michael Scott McConnell (JoAnna); great-grandchildren, Savannah McConnell and Katy McConnell.
Vance was a member of the Gardendale First Baptist Church and enjoyed the Gardendale Senior Citizens activities. He retired after many years as manager in the insurance business and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ronnie Legg and George Weeks will officiate the service.
