Lecil L. Setlife, age 90, of Gardendale, passed away May 1. He was a WWII veteran, a recipient of the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts. He was a retired agent with Liberty National Insurance Company, receiving numerous awards for outstanding achievement.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Harding Setliff; son, Lloyd Setliff (Polly); and daughter, Carolyn; step-children Carolyn Spain (Paul) and Randy Trammell (Vickie); 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethelene Teas and Christene Howell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Safe Harbor Unit of the V.A. Hospital for their excellent care.
Visitation was held Friday, May 4 at Gardendale Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial contribution be made to Mt. Olive First Baptist Church in Mt. Olive.
