Leila Collins Parsons, age 76, a resident of Fultondale since 1961, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012.

She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church and the Goodwill Sunday School class. Mrs. Parsons was the proprietor of Ms Leila’s Day Nursery and the lunchroom cook for Gardendale Christian Academy and Gardendale First Baptist Daycare.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James W. Parsons, Sr.; children, James W. (Pam) Parsons, Jr., Susan (Mike) Romine and Lisa (Rick) Wilborn; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Her graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials be made to the North Jefferson Relay for Life or the Fultondale Fire and Rescue.
