NORTH JEFFERSON —
Lorin Grant Hobart, II, left this world to join all the angels and saints in eternal praise of our Savior on June 10, 2012.
He is survived by his first wife, Luann, their children Hobie (Valerie), Haley, Abi (Sean) his sisters, Nora Travieso (Julio) and Karen Hobart, brother-in-law Tommy Jones (Annette), nieces and nephews Katie Travieso, Mac Jones (Meredith), Josh Jones (Kelli), David Jones (Molly) and six grandchildren Mollie, Emerson, Kelsey, Jones, Luke Grant and Lazarus.
Grant was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who viewed life as a collage of defining moments, splashes of color that shape us as individuals and family. His constant challenge to himself and others was to consistently narrow the gap between who you were and who you wanted to become. As a Christian, Grant has now realized his perfect potential and we celebrate with him in that.
A memorial service will be on Friday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at Gardendale's First Baptist Church (Southern Campus). Visitation will also be at the church on Thursday, June 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Grant’s name can be made to either the North Jefferson Crisis Pregnancy Center in Gardendale, or the Safe Harbor Pregnancy Crisis Center in Pensacola, Fla.
