NORTH JEFFERSON —
Louis Edward Merrell, 79 passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
He was a retired US Navy Chief and served during Viet Nam. A retired US Postal employee, he loved to fish and dance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Owen Edison Merrell.
He is survived by his loving family; son, Edward Lee Merrell; his daughter, Lisa Merrell Luquire (Danny); sister, Janie Boyd (Clarence); grandchildren, Benjamin D. Spradling and Nickolas J. Spradling; cousin, Patsy Brown; nieces, Dianne Laughlin (Frank), Cathy Carden and Cindy Crawford; and nephew, DeWayne Boyd (Denise).
Visitation was December, 13 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. followed by a graveside service Friday in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale. Rev. Larry Horne officiated.
