Boys soccer: Pinson Valley 0, Spain Park 0

HOOVER — It wasn't a victory, but Pinson Valley boys soccer coach Chris Mills was still happy.

"We'll take it. They're a very good team," Mills said after his Indians fought to a scoreless draw with Spain Park on Monday night.

Pinson goalkeeper Jaime Vargas was up to the task, as he turned back 12 Jaguar shots on goal.

"They [Spain Park] had a lot of good looks. Two shots clinked off the post. We had a lot of good luck on our side," Mills said.

Devin Carter had five saves for the Jags.

The Indians have some time to catch their breath after a very busy February schedule, and they'll need the down time. Pinson hosts Class 5A power Homewood on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
