Middle school basketball: Bragg boys unbeaten at Huntsville tourney

HUNTSVILLE — The Bragg eighth-grade boys basketball team won all three of their games at the Ed Nutter Invitational Tournament, played at Chapman Middle School in Huntsville last week.

The Rockets won their opener Friday, beating Athens 62-56. Jake Stewart led the way with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Demetrius King added 18 points.

On Saturday, Bragg took down Huntsville Westlawn 50-36, with King leading all scorers with 16 points.

The Rockets finished off play that evening with a 53-49 win over Gadsden City. Josh Hubbard had 12 points, King scored 11 and Josh Burkett added 10.

Bragg's record now stands at 11-2.
