ACEA girls sub-state basketball: Tuscaloosa Christian 42, Tabernacle Christian 27

GARDENDALE — Tabernacle Christian led for almost all of the first three quarters. But when a top ball-handler got her fourth foul, Tuscaloosa Christian took advantage and went on a 22-5 run, as they scored a 43-27 victory in the girls' sub-state playoff round for the Alabama Christian Education Association.

With Lauren Box picking up her fourth personal with 36 left in the third period, the Torches' ability to put pressure on both ends of the court diminished, and the Warriors ran away with the game in the final six minutes.

Box finished the game with 12 points to lead all scorers. Elana Cronin added seven.

Savannah Logan led Tuscaloosa with 11 points. Katherine Turner scored nine, including a pair of 3-pointers. Lauren Bisch and Alexandra Gibson had eight points each.

Tabernacle finishes the season with a 12-9 record.
