JeffCo Girls Basketball Tournament: No. 2 (5A) Center Point 51, Mortimer Jordan 21

IRONDALE — Dominique Patrick scored 13 points to lead Class 5A No. 2 Center Point to a 51-21 mercy-rule win over Mortimer Jordan in the large-schools opening round of the Jefferson County Girls Basketball Tournament at Shades Valley on Tuesday.

The Eagles dominated from the opening tip, and held a 35-8 lead at halftime.

Kenya Russell also scored 10 points for Center Point.

Alysa Amberson ked the Blue Devils with five points.

Jordan drops to the consolation bracket, where they will play on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against the loser of Tuesday's game between Hueytown and Clay-Chalkville.
