Boys basketball: Mortimer Jordan 79, Curry 64

JASPER — Mortimer Jordan came out on fire in Monday night's area game at Curry, maintaining a double-digit lead throughout on the way to a 79-64 victory.

The Blue Devils ran to a 39-19 lead in the first quarter behind Mark Louis' 12 points and Ben Hardiman's nine.

Louis led Jordan with 18 points and 10 assists. Orion Recke scored 16, Connor Moon had 15 with three treys, and Hardiman ended with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Curry's Jarrod Owens led all scorers with 19, including 4 three-pointers. Wesley Key added 10 for the Yellow Jackets.

Jordan improves to 9-1 on the season and 4-0 in their area. Curry fell to 3-6, and 2-1 in Area 11.

The Blue Devils host Oneonta on Tuesday night. At halftime, the school will present toys collected to be donated to children at the Burkett Center fo rthe Multi-Handicapped, located at the old Jordan campus in Morris.
