GARDENDALE — Center Chelsey Deloney had one of the biggest games of her career, scoring 30 points and pulling down 19 rebounds as Gardendale pulled away late to defeat Pleasant Grove 59-50 on Tuesday night.
Tewnty of Deloney's points came in the second half, as she was able to get feeds from the perimeter for lay-ups and short-range jumpers.
Chelsea Robinson added 10 points for the Rockets (4-1). Mallorie Corbin, Roxie Faulkner and Kelci Truggle contributed six points each, with Faulkner's points coming from a pair of 3-point shots.
Aaliyah Myers led the Spartans with 17 points, Chelsie Taylor had 16 and Brandie Ebert 14.
