LOCUST FORK — Catcher Anna Hood smacked a walk-off two-run double, as Locust Fork came from behind to beat J.B. Pennington 3-2 in softball action Monday.

Pennington took the early lead by scoring on a wild pitch in the first and an RBI single by Alecia Self in the third, and maintained a 2-0 lead all the way to the sixth inning.

The Hornets finally got on the board with a hit by Savannah Gilham that brought home Courtney Fountain, the courtesy runner for Hood. Then in the seventh, Tailor Massey and Jamie Gail Hudson started things off with back-to-back singles, and Hood brought them both home when she hit her two-bagger to left field.

Macy Wilks got the win in relief of Hudson, allowing just one hit in 2-1/3 innings. Self took the loss for the Patriots, despite striking out seven Hornets over six innings.

Locust Fork (14-8) hosts Hanceville on Wednesday.
