— Corner football coach Brent Smith is leaving the school for the second time.
Smith, who coached the Yellow Jackets for last three seasons including a playoff appearance last year, was hired as the new coach at Shelby County High last night. He replaces Ryan Herring, who left to take the top job at Lincoln.
Smith also was head coach at Corner from 2003 through 2006, leaving to coach at Clay-Chalkville for two seasons before returning to Corner.
Smith also served as head baseball coach this past season.
