Baseball: Mortimer Jordan 13, Center Point 3 (5 innings)

KIMBERLY — Kyle Woods was 2-for-3 with a double, driving home two runs and scoring twice as Mortimer Jordan pummeled Center Point 13-3 in five innings, in the second day of the Jefferson County Schools Baseball Tournament.

Brandon Spears was 2-for-3 in hitting, and Nathan Stover hit a bases-clearing triple for the Blue Devils (13-1).

Starter Sam Blair went two innings for the win, Woods pitched two innings of middle relief, and Devlin Hodges closed it out with a three-up, three-down fifth inning.

Joshua Palmer hit a run-scoring double for the Eagles.

Jordan travels to Pinson Valley on Wednesday for the final day of tournament pool play, while Center Point goes to Clay-Chalkville.
