Baseball: Mortimer Jordan 7-13, Dora 1-1

DORA — Mortimer Jordan's baseball team got back on the winning track Wednesday, sweeping a doubleheader at Dora by the scores of 7-1 and 13-1, the latter in five innings by run rule.

In the opening game, starter Justin Folse held the Bulldogs to three hits and one run over six innings, striking out four and allowing no walks.

Devlin Hodges was 3-for-a hitting with an RBI and two runs scored. Sam Blair was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Ty Miller was 2-for-5 and scored a run.

Cade Stone hit a double for Dora, and scored their lone run.

In the nightcap, Blair and Garrett Suchey each blasted three-run homers, as the Blue Devils put up eight runs in the third inning.

Suchey finished 2-for-4 and drove in four runs in all. Blair was also 2-for-4 and scored twice, and Orion Recke was 2-for-3.

Wes Crawford pitched a five-inning one-hitter, striking out seven for the victory.

Jordan (16-3) travels to arch-rival Gardendale on Friday night at 7 p.m.
