Softball: Locust Fork 7, No. 10 Oneonta 2

LOCUST FORK — Locust Fork broke the game open with a four-run rally in the fifth inning, as they upset 10th-ranked Oneonta 7-2 in softball action Tuesday.

Bailey McCay capped off the rally with a two-run double. Shelby Hancock and Anna Hood also had run-scoring hits. The Hornets added two more in the sixth off a base hit by Hood.

Hood was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, McCay was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Jamie Gail Hudson was 2-for-4.

Hudson and Christian Rhodes combined to pitch a one-hitter. Hudson, the starter, went four innings and Rhodes finished with three in relief, with four strikeouts but six walks.

Isabella Dickie slammed a solo homer for the Redskins; they scored their second run in the seventh inning when Kalle Killough came around on two walks, an error and a ground-out.

Dickie pitched all seven innings for Oneonta (0-7), striking out seven but allowing 10 hits. Only one of her seven runs was earned.
