HAYDEN — Center Katie Parr pulled down 23 rebounds, and for Hayden players scored in double digits as the Wildcat girls steamrolled Mortimer Jordan 64-26 to win the Class 5A Area 14 area basketball championship Saturday.

Parr scored 11 points. Freshman guard Grayson Taylor led all scorers with 14 points, including a pair of 3-point baskets. Brooke Meadows and Evin Bibb each scored 10 points, with Bibb also recording four steals.

Haley Alexander led the Blue Devils with eight points. Sarah Rickles scored six on a pair of treys.

Hayden will host fourth-ranked Wenonah, which lost its area final in an upset to No. 7 Fairfield, in their sub-regional playoff. Jordan will travel to Fairfield to take on the Purple Tigers for their sub-regional. Both games are on Thursday at 7 p.m.
