Boys basketball: Good Hope 43, Hayden 39

CULLMAN — A back-and-forth battle throughout the game came down to a 3-point basket in the final minute, as host Good Hope edged Hayden 43-39 in Thursday boys basketball play.

The Wildcats opened with the first seven points of the game, but the Raiders took their first lead with a six-point run in the third quarter, and the teams battled down the stretch.

Houston Launius led the Cats with 12 points, while Duncan Parker grabbed 19 rebounds plus five steals.

Andrew Cofer paced the Raiders with 12 points, including three treys; his brother Alex added 10 points.

Hayden finished out the regular season with three home games, beginning with Cleveland on Friday night.
