Boys basketball: J.B. Pennington 52, Hayden 50

HAYDEN — J.B. Pennington went on a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter to turn a Hayden lead into a 52-50 win Monday night in boys basletball play.

The Wildcats had held the lead since midway through the first period. After the Tigers took the late advantage, Chris Whitt tied to win the game with a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but missed.

Duncan Parker had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Hayden. Luke Wall scored 13 points, Whitt added 11 and Houston Launius 10. Dustin White handed out seven assists.

Brandon Butss led all scorers with 23 points for Pennington, including 3-of-6 from beyong the 3-point arc. Blake Harris scored 10 for the Tigers (7-12).
