Girls Basketball: No. 10 (4A) Locust Fork 46, Briarwood Christian 32

LOCUST FORK — Locust Fork romped to a 14-point lead at halftime and never looked back, as the Class 4A 10th-ranked Hornets touted visiting Briarwood Christian 46-32 in Saturday-afternoon girls basketball play.

Kristen Cox and Kimberly Horton each scored 10 points for the Hornets, and Kasi McMillan grabbed 10 rebounds to go with six points.

Samantha Swords led the Lions with seven points. Hannah Wainwright and Lindy Sumerford each scored six on pairs of 3-point goals.

Locust Fork moves into the Blount County Basketball Tournament this week at Cleveland. They have a first-round bye, and will face the winner of Hayden vs. Appalachian on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
