Locust Fork player signs with Alabama: Geoffrey Bramblett, who is going into his senior year at the Blount County school, has announced a commitment to play baseball for the University of Alabama.

Bramblett was the Hornets’ pitching ace last season, with a 6-3 record and a 0.52 earned-run average. He struck out half the batters he faced, 105 for the season, and had a stingy opponent’s batting average of .079.

Bramblett was also the starting quarterback and punter for the Hornets after transferring from Hoover. He threw for 2,270 yards in the 2011 season.
