OXFORD — Tabernacle Christian simply had not answer for Tuscaloosa Christian, as the Torches lost to the Warriors 70-39 on Saturday in the ACEAA boys basketball championship game at Oxford High School.
Caleb Thompsn scored 18 points, John White added nine, and Shiver Winchester had 16 rebounds for the Torches (15-11).
Tyler Foust and Trent Gibson each scored 17 points for the Warriors (17-4).
Gibson was named the tournament MVP, and Thompson and White were named to the all-tournament team.
Hayden wins AHSAA 5A state softball championship
Brooke Meadows' lead-off home run in the first inning held up as the only run of the game, as Hayden defeated Scottsboro 1-0 Saturday to win the AHSAA Class 5A state softball championship.

After breezing through their regional qualifying tournament without a loss, then dispensing with a top-10 opponent in the first round of the state tournament, Corner’s softball team showed all the appearances of a juggernaut headed for a big finish to the season.
