Blount County Softball Tournament: Hayden 13, Locust Fork 0 (5 innings)

HAYDEN — Hayden pitcher Sharley Miller was dominant in the circle, as were the Wildcat bats in their 13-0 five-inning win over Locust Fork in the winner's bracket final of the Blount County Softball Tournament.

Miller gave up just two hits — a double to Montana Armstrong and a single to Haley Glasscox — and struck out four to go with one walk.

Miller was also 2-for-4 at the plate, driving in three runs. Taylor Hodo also had three RBIs in going 3-for-4. and Kaitlyn Kelley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Brooke Meadows was 3-for-4 and scored three times.

Hornets starter Courtney Fountain only lasted an inning, giving up three runs on five hits as she was tagged with the loss.

Hayden (27-2), ranked No. 2 in Class 5A, takes on the winner of the loser's bracket final in the championship game Saturday evening.
