VESTAVIA HILLS — Tyler Quenn threw a five-inning no-hitter, as Vestavia Hills shut down visiting Corner 10-0 in Tuesday baseball action.
Quenn was just one walk short of a perfect game. He issued a base on balls to Chase Best in the fifth inning to break up the perfecto.
Quenn also drove in four runs, with the last one ending the game when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth. He was 2-for-3 with a run-scoring triple.
Prince Visintainer was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, with two RBIs.
Kevin Bryant took the loss on the mound for Corner, giving up six runs (two earned) on five hits in 1-2/3 innings.
