GARDENDALE — Faith Howard had 13 kills and Addie Salyers had 11 as Tabernacle Christian won its second volleyball match of the season, defeating Brooklane Baptist 24-26, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15 on Thursday afternoon.
Lindsey Dickson added 10 kills against the Eagles, and the team tallied five service aces.
The Alabama Christian Education Association victory came on the heels of the Torches' 25-17, 25-15, 23-25, 21-25, 15-12 win over Cornerstone Christian in their season opener on Tuesday.
Hayden wins AHSAA 5A state softball championship
Brooke Meadows' lead-off home run in the first inning held up as the only run of the game, as Hayden defeated Scottsboro 1-0 Saturday to win the AHSAA Class 5A state softball championship.

After breezing through their regional qualifying tournament without a loss, then dispensing with a top-10 opponent in the first round of the state tournament, Corner’s softball team showed all the appearances of a juggernaut headed for a big finish to the season.
