KIMBERLY — Mortimer Jordan gave eighth-ranked Center Point a run for its money Friday, but quarterback Kelian Knight ran for two second-half touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 22-12 comeback victory.
Knight ran for 5- and 10-yard scores, and threw for two-point conversions on each.
Blue Devils quarterback Devln Hodges put his team out in front in the first half with a 19-yard pass to Landon Smith with 17 seconds left before halftime, plus a 1-yard scoring run midway through the first quarter.
Cedrick Powell scored from the 1 for Eagles late in the second quarter.
Virgil Studdard led all rushers with 153 yards; Knight was close behind with 145.
Hodges was 12-for-22 for the night for 132 yards. Knight was nearly identical, going 13-of-21 for 131 yards plus an interception. But Center Point outgained Jordan by a nearly 3-to-1 margin.
Both teams already had their playoff spots secured no matter the outcome. The Devils (5-4, 4-3 region) will get the fourth seed, while Center Point (8-1, 6-1) takes first seed — they finished behind Walker in the standings, but the Vikings are on restrictive probation and are banned from post-season play.
