KIMBERLY — Ty Miller's walk-off single brought home Nathan Stover with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Mortimer Jordan came from behind to beat Walker 5-4 in a Class 5A Area 12 baseball game Thursday.
Devlin Hodges started off the rally with a double, moved to third on an error, and scored on a Walker McCleney hit to tie the game. Stover then got on board with a base hit.
Miller went 2-for-4 with a pair of run-scoring doubles. He also got the win (2-1) on the mound in relief of starter Garrett Suchey, who went six innings. Suchey was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs, and was hit by pitches twice, Stover also went 2-for-4 for the Blue Devils (24-5, 2-0 area).
Vikings second baseman C.J. Robinson was 2-for-3 with a run-scoring triple. Bailey Tidwell suffered the loss, with a complete-game effort that included a pair of strikeouts, but also nine hits.
Jordan plays a doubleheader at Cleveland on Friday.
