CORNER — Wide receiver Dylan Hand caught four touchdowns — two each from two different quarterbacks — as Corner closed out its season with a 49-7 battering of visiting Sumiton Christian on Friday.
His scoring receptions of 46 and 49 yards came from Chris Huff within 80 seconds of each other, and were part of a 28-point scoring barrage in the second quarter.
In the first period, Hand caught touchdown passes of 14 and 37 yards from starting quarterback Chase Best.
Dylan Adamson also scored for Corner on a 60-yard interception return with 3:26 left in the first half, followed by a 3-yard touchdown run by Hunter Doppler just 65 seconds before the break.
Tanner Cose scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth period.
The Eagles’ only score came right after Hand’s first touchdown catch, as Demonte Hobbs ran the subsequent kickoff 89 yards to the end zone.
Hand had six catches overall for 177 yards. Doppler ran 11 times for 66 yards, best was 6-of-9 passing with an interception for 91 yards, and Huff was 5-for-6 for 118 yards.
Hunter Averhart led the Jackets defense with 13 tackles.
