GOOD HOPE — It took a while for Corner to get going, but the Yellow Jackets broke the ice by scoring five times in the fifth inning, on their way to an 11-0 rout at Good Hope in the regular-season baseball finale.
The big rally was started by a three-run homer by Jack Robbins, which brought home Dillon McCaleb and Kevin Bryant after back-to-back singles.
Blake Byrd had a triple for the Jackets, and Kerry Smoth smacked two hits.
Coach Josh Hoyle marched a procession of pitchers to the mound, with starter Jackson Tavel going three innings. He was followed by Seth Merchant, Chase Best, Seth Moore, and Logan Chappell, each of whom threw an inning.
Corner (22-13) begins the Class 4A post-season on Friday, as they host Jemison in a doubleheader that starts at 5 p.m. The Panthers (17-12) have won nine of their last 11 games.
