KIMBERLY — Dalton Hudson's 3-pointer with 18 seconds left turned out to be the game-winning shot, as Mortimer Jordan edged out Moody 58-56 in Thursday boys basketball play.

Moody had overcome an early Jordan advantage, and led by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter. But the turning point came with 1:52 left and Jordan down by five, when point guard Mark Louis drew an intentional foul on a breakaway lay-up attempt. He hit both free throws, and on the ensuing Jordan possession, Hudson hit another trey to tie the game.

An Orion Recke free throw put Jordan up by one with just under a minute to play, but Moody's Josh Daniel sank two free throws to retake the lead with 43.9 seconds left.

Ben Hardiman led Jordan (19-6) with 16 points, and in doing so crossed the 1,100-point career mark. Louis finished with 11 and Hudson 10.

Daniel paced Moody with 20 points.  Tevin Paul added 12 and D.Q. Swann had 11.

Jordan closes out the regular season at home Friday, as they play the rubber game of a best-of-three season series with neighboring Corner.
