GARDENDALE — Don't look now, but coach Allison Svoboda's Pinson Valley softball team is starting to turn some heads.

The Indians used a four-run rally in the fourth inning to take down Gardendale by a 6-3 decision Thursday evening.

The rally was highlighted by Kirbi Tucks, whose double brought home two runs. She later scored on a passed ball.

Hana Presley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Destinee Cole went 2-for-4 and scored two runs, the latter in the fifth inning on a passed ball.

The Rockets got on the board when Kristin Graham hit a lead-off single, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and an error, then came in on a passed ball.

Gardendale cut the margin in the bottom of the seventh when Alissa Cornelius and Claire Lumpkin scored on a Baleigh Moffett double.

Graham, the Rocket's starting pitcher, was lifted with two out in the fourth for Cris Gant, who was fresh off a 16-strikeout eight-inning win over Mortimer Jordan on Tuesday.Gant went the rest of the way, striking out three.

Lauren Keplinger got the complete-game win, even though she didn't strike out a Gardendale batter. She allowed eight hits.

Pinson Valley (3-5) travels to Moody on Tuesday, while Gardendale (1-1) hosts McAdory on Friday afternoon.
