CENTER POINT — An eight-run rally in the sixth and final inning help Pinson Valley put away Center Point by a 14-0 score in a Class 5A area baseball game Thursday, the first game of a split doubleheader.

A three-run homer by Brent Stephens was the big blow that put the game out of reach.

Scott Falkinburg drove in two more runs with a double in the last inning. He was 2-for-4 on the day, and drove home a third run on a sacrifice fly. Gracen Armstrong was 3-for-2 with an RBI, and Jared McCurdy was 2-for-3 with a double for the Indians.

Starter Zac Ray and reliever Joel Aldrich each pitched three innings for Pinson, with Ray getting the win with just one hit allowed while Aldrich struck out five.
