CORNER — A two-run double by Cole Lepchitz tied the game, then a sacrifice fly by Dillon McCaleb and an RBI double by Devne Daniel gave Corner the runs they needed for an 8-6 come-from-behind win over Hayden in Monday baseball action.
The Yellow Jackets took the early lead with an RBI single by McCaleb in the first inning, followed by a pair of runs in the second on a Lepchitz fielder’s choice and a passed ball. Hayden countered with a four-run rally on run-scoring singles by Josh Helms, Drew Turner and Justin Sanderson.
The Wildcats scored twice in the sixth when Duncan’s bunt was thrown away.
Kevin Bryant was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Jackets (8-10). Turner and Helms were each 2-for-4 and scored a run.
McCaleb worked five innings as the starting pitcher, allowing five hits; none of his six runs were earned. Reliever Chase Best got the win, striking out three in two innings.
